No Egrets

We are starting our stay in Bali at the Club Med. We had such a good experience at the Marrakech Club Med we thought this one would be a good way to start our journey off.

And so far it has exceeded expectations. We were greeted in Club Med style, which was a nice sitdown with one of the GOs with a welcome drink and being escorted to our room.

Club Med does take all inclusive to an extreme level. Drinks and activities are included. So on our first full day we have visited the gym, the pitch and putt and are having drinks, reading and enjoying the beach.

So far we have also been super impressed with the food. We have yet to visit the specialty restaurant, which like 99% of things is inclusive, but the food in the main “buffet” has been excellent. Basically they serve loads of small dishes of varied cuisine. There is also a chef’s special dish. Our first night it was a piece of fish on a tomato ragout with some other bits of seafood. Freshly prepared and again all included.

There is quite a bit of natural wildlife in the resort, where all the common areas are essentially open to the environment. So far we have seen several geckos, tree squirrels and two egrets. I keep trying to capture a picture of the beautiful egrets, but no luck so far…
