Simon and I didn’t have to get up too early today in order to start heading out. This is our first big holiday where we haven’t had to jump on an airplane and deal with all the faff of airport security and giving yourself sufficient time and contigency to make sure you don’t miss the myriad of connections you need.
One of the things we remarked early on about cruising is that how nice it was to get to the ship, unpack once for several days but not be “stuck” in one place. We are hoping by leaving from the UK, this even helps that enjoyment. A train ride to Southampton (1:10 from London) and next thing you know, we will be in Iceland. Far more civilised way.
The ship is pretty amazing. We were on the Celebrity Millennium last year and this Solstice class ship is great! It has the new World Class Bar as well. We have two days of getting comfortable with the ship before we arrive in Iceland.
